Featuring interviews, essays, and fiction from some of our state’s most fascinating people, Spark brings the ideas and stories of Washington’s communities to everyone.

Spark is published online throughout the year, and available as a print magazine each spring and fall. It’s also available at most museums, libraries, and cultural centers around the state.

Spark has featured fiction from National Book Award-winner Charles Johnson, New York Times-bestselling author Jess Walter, Washington State Book Award winner Sharma Shields, and many more authors, plus interviews and essays with some of our state’s most prominent scholars and cultural experts.
